The Scenic Trail
Blue signs. It has brought you to a place with the most beautiful and extensive view of the fortress. Thanks to reconstruction of the outline of Bastion I and building two footbridges over the railway track you can see a landscape that does not differ much from the landscape seen by defenders of Zamość in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. You can see the southern foreground of the fortress up to Zamczysko, where there used to be a fortified palace of the Zamoyskis. The trail takes you down the steps in the embankment of the flank of the bastion; then you return to its face and learn from a small board what it looked like in the past. Then you climb the embankment of the counterguard* to take a look at the open foreground of the fortress and go down a ramp to Okopowa Street and the New and Old Lwowska Gates and farther on to Zamojskie Pola Marsowe.
