The Fortress Trail

Rose signs. It has led you to the face of Bastion I, where there is a panoramic board showing Great Pond and providing information about hydrological changes affecting the development of the fortress. After getting to the other side, you will see a small pulpit board with information about the left casemate of Bastion I and the powerful casemate building called the “defensive traverse” which once stood on it. Walking farther on you get to Plac Wolności by the former Greek Catholic Church, which is now St. Nicholas’s church. Do not go back to the town but turn left in front of the railway crossing and you will get to ravelin* I-VII.
