Bastion II you are looking at looks the same way it did after the last alteration carried out in the first half of the 19th century
by Jan Baptysta Mallet-Malletski. As a result of the most recent restoration works, the preserved flanks have been combined with casemates and the face of the bastion has been restored. Escarpment wall has been rebuilt but the full outline of the walls has not been reconstructed due to complicated ownership relations (the garden located on the platform of the bastion belongs to the Church). The former
postern* has been cleared; it now constitutes a passage through the bastion. Conservation and supplementing works have been carried out in the casemates and the postern. In this way another element of the unique project has been created: a tourist trail leading from the open-air green belt to the underground part of the fortifications.
