Bastion III has been fully reconstructed; the result is a bastion of two levels of defence as designed by Jan Michał Link.
Archaeological research has shown that in the northern (right) flank of the bastion there are remains of at least 2 phases of bastion construction; remains of a casemate and a corridor dating back to the 17th century and embrasures dating from the 19th century. They have been displayed in the underground archaeological reserve. The powder magazine remains buried in the retrenchment and is invisible from the foreground since it was built later than the rest of the bastion.
