The Fortress Trail

Red signs. It runs near this information kiosk, along the street, in front of the entry to the Town Park. If you walk westwards, you get to Bastion IV, in front of which there is a panorama representing the historical appearance of the fortress on watercolours by J.P.Lelewel. If you walk eastwards, you get to Bastion V, where there is a description of a facility that no longer exists. In front of the New Lubelska Gate there is a panorama of one of the best-preserved fortification elements shown on J.P.Lelewel’s watercolours. Then the trail runs to the front of Lunette V-VI, i.e. “Luneta Teatralna” and farther on along the moat of Bastion VI to Koszary Kozackie housing a tourist information centre.
