The Cycling Trail

Purple signs. Dear Cyclist! Before you start your trip like a lancer, dragoon or hussar getting on your steel ‘horse’ read these words. The cycling trail around the fortress has a recreational character. In many places it meets paths accessible also to other visitors. It is not a typical cycling lane used for public transport. In many places the trail has to follow the acute angles of former park layout. Do not ride too fast; admire wonderful views of Zamość and look out for other visitors. At times you will use a public road so watch out for other vehicles! If you decide to ride westwards, you will go along the foot of a scenic embankment, the open foreground of Zamość fortifications and through a fragment of a Renaissance garden, dating from the 1950s. After crossing Piłsudskiego Street you will enter the greenery of historical Park Miejski. Cycling east, you will ride around Bastion VII and after crossing Partyzantów Street, you will ride towards Bastion I and open southern foreground of Zamość Fortress.
