The Nature Trail

Green signs. You are welcome to take a walk along the remains of the fortress and garrison greenery. Go eastwards and you pass by an officers’ building surrounded with specimens of old trees of original planting, dating back to the end of the 19th century. They decorated officers’ garden. While walking farther east, towards Partyzantów Street, you will see fragments of a garden dating from 1950. It used to be a Renaissance garden is part of a monumental project of a large park and a zoological garden prepared by professor Gerard Ciołek and his team; unfortunately, the project has never been implemented. While walking westwards, you will see old trees – remains of the greenery of Cossack barracks and those of recent planting, which mark out the lines of former fortifications.
