The Fortress Trail
Rose signs. First climb a small embankment where there is a vantage point. Find out what this part of Zamość Fortress foreground used to look like. From this information kiosk you should walk along a path marked with posts and signposts, first to the building of Koszary Kozackie which now houses a tourist agency and provides information about Zamość Fortress and fortifications. The fortress trail leads eastwards and then northwards, across a serrated line marking a covered way above the moat of the lunette to its front, where there is a vantage point. Go southwards and the trail leads you down to the moat, through a gate in the curtain wall and farther on to Bastion VII with its monumental cavalier housing a museum. You can also go westwards along the moat and take a look at the remains of 18th century counterguard in Bastion VI.
