The Fortress Trail

Rose signs. It has brought you to the last information kiosk and to the face of ravelin* I-VII. It is a good place to look at the Old and New Lwowska Gates. You can also compare the present view with that shown on water colours by Jan Paweł Lelewel, dating from the middle of the 19th century. After going down the ravelin, you get to Partyzantów Street. Turn left, enter the fortress, take a look at Łukasiński’s prison cell and climb Bastion VII, turned into a museum. If you want to get back to the Fortress Trail, walk through Furta Janowicka in curtain wall VI-VII and go to the tourist agency in lunette VI-VII in Koszary Kozackie.
